Generative engine optimization

Get your business named when people ask AI

When someone asks ChatGPT who to hire, we work to make sure your name comes up. We'll also show you the answers, the sources and what changed.

We check ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini and Claude.

The problem

AI answers name a few businesses and skip the rest

More people now ask an assistant instead of scrolling through ten blue links. The assistant gives one answer with a handful of names in it. If yours isn't one of them, that customer never sees you.

The answers also change a lot. One study of local recommendations asked ChatGPT the same question twice, 4 to 9 days apart, and only 48.2% of the businesses named the first time were named again. You can't judge where you stand from a single screenshot. You have to check repeatedly.

Good news: academic research on generative engine optimization found that some content changes improved visibility in generated answers by up to 40% in their tests. The work can be measured, and it pays off.

Five AI answers to the same question. The business is named in only two of them.
What we check

We ask the questions your customers ask, and write down what happens

Every audit starts with a table like this one. The example below is illustrative; your audit uses your real customer questions and real answers.

Customer questionEngineNamed?What it cited
"Best roof repair company in Colorado Springs"ChatGPTNoTwo directories, one local "best of" list
"Who fixes hail damage on roofs near Briargate?"PerplexityYes, #3Your service page, a review site
"Is [your company] licensed?"GeminiUnclearOld directory listing with the wrong phone number
"Roofers open on Saturday in 80920"Google AI OverviewsNoGoogle Business Profiles of three competitors

The "what it cited" column becomes your to-do list. Those are the pages the engines trust for your topic.

Services

What we do

AI visibility audit

We run your real customer questions through five AI engines several times, then record who gets named and which sources get cited.

Technical fixes

Crawler access, structured data, consistent business details, page speed, and a clean llms.txt. These are the basics that let engines read you.

Answer-first content

Service pages and FAQs that answer the question in the first two sentences, with the specifics engines like to quote.

Monthly tracking

We re-run the same questions on a schedule and report how often you appear, not one lucky screenshot.

How it works

Four steps, in plain order

  1. Baseline

We agree on the questions that matter and measure where you stand today across every engine.

  2. Fix

We correct the technical and listing problems that stop engines from reading or trusting you.

  3. Publish

We write or rework the pages and answers that engines can quote, and help you earn mentions elsewhere.

  4. Measure

We re-run the same questions and show what moved, what didn't, and what we'll try next.

What we won't promise

Nobody can guarantee you a spot in an AI answer

AI engines don't take payment for placement, and their answers change from one ask to the next. If anyone promises otherwise, ask them how they'd prove it.

  • "#1 in ChatGPT." There's no fixed #1. Answers vary by person, place and time.
  • Results in a week. Engines re-read the web on their own schedule.
  • Fake reviews, paid listicles or spammy link schemes. They put your name at risk.
  • Reports full of jargon. You'll get the questions, the answers and what we changed.

FAQ

Questions we get a lot

What is generative engine optimization (GEO)?

GEO is the work of making your business easy for AI tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Google AI Overviews to find, understand and mention when they answer a question. It overlaps a lot with good SEO, but it's measured differently: by how often you're named or cited in answers, not by a position on a results page.

Is GEO different from SEO?

Partly. AI engines still pull from the web, so crawlable pages, clear content and a trustworthy reputation matter for both. Google says there are no extra technical requirements to appear in AI Overviews beyond normal Search eligibility. What changes is how you write (answer first, specific facts), where else you need to be mentioned, and how you measure results.

How long until I see results?

Technical and listing fixes can show up within weeks, once engines re-crawl the pages. Content and outside mentions usually take a few months. We track it monthly so you can see the trend rather than guessing.

Do you work with local businesses?

Yes, and they're a good fit. AI engines try to give location-specific answers, so a well-documented local business can be named next to much bigger brands for questions about its own area.

Where are you based?

We're in the Colorado Springs area and work with businesses anywhere in the US, remotely. Call (719) 937-3354 or use the contact form.
